This apnea is coming to an end!
The evening at Latteria Artigianale Molloy (Brescia 27/11/2009) confirmed a beautiful sensation I had: Italian Music is alive and pulses in an underground heart of poetics just waiting to be discovered. The occasion was one of the best, that is, to listen for a second time (the first was during the Amor Fou concert) to a young artist who has everything it takes to move many sensitive souls. I am referring to Vincenzo Fasano, a singer-songwriter from Mantua, whose can-tango is positively obsessing my "spatial" listening. Awaiting the album release, I am captivated by the blood-red charm of a vibrant voice and raw, heartfelt writing. Truly: in the few songs performed with just guitar and voice, an energy and emotional charge were felt that shattered the stomachs of those present. Shivers! We will certainly hear about him in the future; in the meantime, enjoy authentic gems like "Non ritiro quel che ho detto" and "Se fossi in me" on space.
A different story for Giuliano Dottori, whose history is broader and includes the legacy of musical experiences matured with groups like Amor Fou (as second guitar) and Atleticodefina, transforming them into two albums with strong personality and poetics: "Lucida" (2007) and "Temporali e rivoluzioni" recently published. Live, Giuliano is accompanied by drums and bass and delivers structurally complex yet highly inspired songs. A performance that, in perfect balance with the opening act, this time gently steps in. It aims to demonstrate a writing style that is not easy but loaded with poetry that reveals itself gradually. The goodness of songs like "Chiudi l'emergenza nello specchio" and "Non fa mai male la verità" immediately strikes, however, it's on the album that one can truly grasp the lyrical greatness of this young artist (and even note a certain aesthetic resemblance to Jeff Buckley!). A highly recommended production.
A final mention to the venue "Latteria Artigianale Molloy," truly a welcoming place where I will surely return.
Now I'm ready to rise again.
