Giorgione (Giorgio Barbarelli da Castelfranco, c.1477–1510) was an Italian painter of the Venetian Renaissance, known for enigmatic, poetic paintings and a small number of securely attributed works.

Born Giorgio Barbarelli da Castelfranco (c.1477). Active in Venice and associated with the Venetian school. Died 1510. La Tempesta (La tempesta) is preserved at the Gallerie dell'Accademia in Venice. Only a limited corpus of works is securely attributed to him; his subjects and meanings are often described as enigmatic.
