British hard rock band formed by Ian Gillan in 1978 after leaving Deep Purple; active until 1982.

The 1978 debut album (Gillan aka The Japanese Album) was initially released only in Japan, New Zealand and Australia. The debut lineup on that record included guitarist Steve Byrd, keyboardist Colin Towns, drummer Liam Genockey and bassist Jon McCoy. Ian Gillan was previously the frontman of Deep Purple.
