According to the old, in an affectionate sense, Gianni Bella, only a jury of shameless leftist communists could give a barely passing grade to the latest masterpiece of "mogolian" craftsmanship, placing it, among others, in a rather low position in the overall ranking of the 2007 Sanremo Festival edition. I am talking about "Per sempre (forever)" performed by the overly-present siblings at Italy's most famous singing competition. I am neither left-wing, nor right-wing, nor centrist, but the song is absolutely unacceptable. If we are talking about songwriting, about pop music, then this piece should be excluded. It's a jumble of insistent repeated words, among other things, poorly interpreted, barely fitting the characters that blend terribly. Marcella Bella's voice is musical and powerful, Gianni's, alas, a bit off-key. Boring, unpresentable, disappointing piece. In a festival that seems to be approaching a new literary and communicative language, this song is at the antipodes. Expired, anachronistic, past its due date and off-topic. I would like to tell the authors to be ashamed and to choose, for once, to step aside. These pearls are absolutely useless even to the most in love (or crazy) of fans.
