LA RECENSIONE

First of all, I would like to clarify that the content of this work is absolutely not what one would expect from Grignani... so if you were looking for classic pieces in the style of "Speciale" or "Falco a metà," then change course, but if you're willing to listen to a new way of relating to the audience, you're correctly tuned to Clako's frequencies.

"The Modugno of rock," that's how Gianluca Grignani was defined by journalists and industry professionals after the release of the latest studio work by the Milanese artist, who, to me, is one of those who did not sit back with the Popstar belly and sacrificed over three million copies of "Destinazione paradiso" just to put his abilities to the test. Artistically light years away from "La fabbrica di plastica" and "Campi di popcorn," here comes in March 2008 the brand new "Cammina nel sole" expressively very different from both the decisively psychedelic first Grignani and the markedly poppish second... although in my modest opinion, his music has always been enveloped by a nice halo of originality and genius. In any case, this latest work is definitely worth listening to, as within it we discover a new Grignani, completely open and bare, with an unprecedented ability to describe his own world... especially regarding the musical aspect of the tracks where the search for an unboxed sound accompanied by a gritty and lively style is evident.

"Tutti gli angeli giù dal cielo" is the fitting example of the aforementioned, an extreme love piece that's not bland or poor but very peculiar and full of twists.

"Hey mister" is the fierce protest against a journalist who publicly offended his wife Francesca, a truly engaging and natural piece... when there's a need to get pissed off, Grigna makes himself heard.

The apologies to his wife are not long in coming, and here emerges "Francy," a sweet and melancholic piece that embodies the autobiographical soul of the entire album.

"Ribellione" is perhaps the catchiest and floor-filling track, but absolutely my favorite is "Acqua nel deserto," which completes the two souls of Gianluca and assembles his two artistic periods, a light and overwhelming piece that flows away like music... like joy...

In summary, I think Gianluca has finally done a great job saving face, wallet, and perhaps even his own personal matters...
