Finally arrives the first LP of the solo project by Giacomo Voli, a talented Italian rock and metal musician (and composer).
After his participation in the talent show "The Voice Of Italy" in 2014 in Piero Pelù's team (where he came in second), and the success of his single "Rimedio" recorded for Universal, Giacomo becomes the frontman of the bands Teodasia and Rhapsody Of Fire, and now finally presents his solo project in Italian accompanied by Riccardo Bacchi (guitar), Mattia Rubizzi (keyboards and backing vocals), Federico Festa (bass), Demis Castellari (drums), and singer-songwriter Daniela Ridolfi, who played a truly important role in the creation of the lyrics.
And here is Prigionieri liberi.
The name derives from the recurring themes of imprisonment, the journey towards happiness, understanding ourselves, and overcoming prejudices, themes that are also echoed by the maze drawn on the cover.
The album is perfected in every detail and presents a predominantly rock and metal sound style but without closing the door to more prog and alternative options.
Accompanying these sounds are Daniela's lyrics that perfectly blend with the harsh atmospheres created by Giacomo and his companions. Indeed, the tracks transition from those that tell about his personal weaknesses and doubts to songs addressing social denunciation themes, the former melancholic and restless and the latter more aggressive and pungent, but also to songs where a wind of hope blows and love songs, dominated by lighter and more carefree tunes.
