Here comes Gesaffelstein again, the French producer of instrumental electronic music with dark shades, featuring tight rhythms and almost EBM.
After the excellent "Aleph" surrounded by singles and EPs, now back in 2013, which perfectly fit the aforementioned definition, he had left us with a bitter taste due to the misstep of "Hyperion" released shortly after and in the same year, an album of highs and lows divided between out-of-place commercial finds and pleasant songs that nonetheless did not fully convince. With this new six-song EP, with an essential yet intriguing cover, he seems to want to tell us that he is back after the criticisms and fan disapproval for the previous album, and we should not worry because the return to sounds is there, and this time he also winks at a certain rock attitude, so dear to fellow countrymen Justice. In short, a return to the origins with some new ingredients, although at times there is the impression of wanting to indulge too much in a loop-style trend concerning the track structure (however typical of the genre), they do not bore thanks to the proposal of a fairly personal sound and the variety of bpm for each track, which for example, increase in songs like "Ignio" and "Metalotronics" that wouldn't look out of place in a DAF album from the golden age.
Unfortunately, the duration is what it is; the individual tracks are short, and the whole thing revolves around fifteen minutes, leaving us waiting for further news.
