❝ Grubbs and O’Rourke trapped multicolored butterflies in the harmonic box of their acoustic guitars. Tiny drops of dew blessing caterpillars, tadpoles, sprouts, and all things in becoming.
❝ The debut LP of David Grubbs' project (formerly of Bitch Magnet and Squirrel Bait, no less!) is not one of those albums that makes music history, being at least a notch below the heavyweights it draws inspiration from, namely "Spiderland" and "Frigid Stars," the two post-rock masterpieces of the early decade.
❝ An album that, taken at the wrong time, feels like an anvil on your balls. Something that is now far from post-hardcore and that frighteningly approaches the avant-garde of classical music, atonal music.
❝ And then... the first track, The Season Reverse, is worth the price of admission alone.
