The Profile

Gallows are an English hardcore punk band from Watford, formed in 2005. Their debut Orchestra of Wolves broke through the UK underground; Grey Britain (2009) cemented their reputation. Original vocalist Frank Carter departed in 2011 and was replaced by Wade MacNeil (Alexisonfire). Subsequent albums include Gallows (2012) and Desolation Sounds (2015).

Known for ferocious, chaotic live shows and politically charged lyrics. Early work released via In At The Deep End Records with distribution by Epitaph/Warner. Grey Britain is a concept album set in a decayed, oppressive London, accompanied by interconnected videos. Originated in Watford; Frank Carter is a tattoo artist and the band’s original frontman.

Three DeBaser reviews paint Gallows as ferocious, politically charged, and unrelenting. Grey Britain emerges as a standout concept album steeped in dystopian London imagery. Orchestra of Wolves is praised as a volatile, time-bomb debut with bruising energy. Reviewers spotlight tracks like The Vulture (Acts I & II), London Is The Reason, and Misery. Overall tone: passionate admiration with punk-level snark.
