How lucky are we to have had Fugazi?
And previously Minor Threat, Rites Of Spring, Squirrel Bait, Hüsker Dü, and all of Albini?
I love post-hardcore a lot but, in my view, it has had two major flaws:
THE METAL:
Guys, I like metal-core, like Botch and Breach, the more threatening Unsane, stop. When it comes to screamo and when the metal component veers towards death and black, I'm not there. Hearing double bass drums, graceless screams over soulless guitar solos, is not for me. Industrial is beautiful.
MELODIC:
The other annoying thing is hearing singers who are way too melodic (and I don't give a damn if they then rub their gonads with their knees), nice crisp guitars, in short, I want acidic sounds, indefinite distortion, the clear and classic noise, I want hardcore that rots under the bass drum, I want a hoarse but not rough voice, melodic but not MTV oriented, I want the best for my ears.
The Fury is on the level of my core-post-hardcore: a lot of noise, hoarse voice, hardcore guitars that sometimes become more metal, sometimes alternative, sometimes purely hardcore, they become Fugazi, Unsane, and Hüsker Dü, but always with that late '90s early '00s straight edge attitude.
A highly recommended album to the point of absurdity, so much so that I'll put the link:
