Fumito Ueda is a Japanese video game designer and director, best known for directing Ico (2001), Shadow of the Colossus (2005) and The Last Guardian (2016). He led Team Ico and later co-founded genDESIGN.

Known for a minimalist, atmospheric design approach often described as "design by subtraction", with sparse storytelling, environmental puzzles, and emotive orchestral soundtracks.

The available review focuses on Shadow of the Colossus (2005, Team Ico) and its melancholic, minimalist world. It describes Wander's quest to revive Mono, the game’s emphasis on environmental puzzles embodied by the colossi, and Agro the horse. Gameplay is noted as deliberately limited and sometimes frustrating; the orchestral soundtrack and visual presentation are praised for heightening immersion.

For:Players and readers interested in atmospheric, narrative-driven, puzzle and action-adventure games.

"Now that you are no longer here I desire silences Infinite silences Infinite deserts All white nightingales And serene thoughts On a road full of light That never ends"
