Still in the realm of Fugazi.

Still, more than ever, FVGAZI (that's how I like to remember the band from Washington D.C.).

As always, intensity through the roof, starting with the cover image captured at one of their formidable concerts. That slender body of Guy that seems to soar in the air, shouting expressive and suffering words; while the rhythmic section of Brendan and Joe at the back guarantees that propelling thrust so physical and exaggerated. Ian appears secluded, composed; busy weaving his sparse guitar patterns, always on the verge of feedback. Noise, clamor, distortion not just at its peak, but well beyond!!

Three tracks recorded in the same session as "Repeater" in the distant summer of 1989. Published in December by "Sup Pop" of Seattle and a month later by "Dischord". We are therefore in the early phase of the band's career, the one of greatest harshness.

It immediately takes off with the explosion of "Song #1": guitars, bass, drums and that dual voice blasted in your face. Fugazi indeed, as one would rightly expect. It's the steady sound of Joe's bass leading the instrumental "Joe #1", while his colleagues accompany him with their instruments, barely restrained, in a mid-tempo cadence that suddenly gives way to the explosive minute and a half of "Break-In"; the band decides to release the brakes for ninety seconds of pure sonic adrenaline. An electric shock with a deadly sound impact; exaggerated, grumpy, and oblique.

An institution for me; an institution of Music, altogether.

Ad Maiora.

Tracklist and Lyrics

01   Song Number One ()

02   Joe Number One ()

03   Break-In ()

And he's happy because she's got skin
And she's happy just to let him in
When he asks will you let me in?
And from a place where they share skin,
They say come inside and he's happy because she's got skin
And it's sweet when she let's him in,
No sin but there's a time when the skin wears thin
And she's working on another skin deep inside deep inside break-in
And he wonders will my money, will it cover for me
Can i stay outside and let it cover for me?
She can't get outside, she can't get outside
She's the covering
