LA RECENSIONE

I'm sorry, but if you don't know Fuck and you are reading the review just because the name sparked your curiosity, you're about to be disappointed. They are not a new Punk or Metal band!
If you have already heard of the quartet, here is the first pleasant confirmation of what you already know. Yes, they are the best pop, minimalist, lo-fi band out there today, at least in my opinion.
Our Californians (actually only ¾ of them are) now on their sixth attempt, reach artistic maturity with it. “Those Are Not My Bongos”, recorded in Ancona for Homesleep under the guidance of producer Matteo Agostinelli, is the pinnacle of a journey that began ten years ago. It dates back to then that the first compliments, for their quirky and disconnected pop melodies, even compared them to Pavement. But Fuck, who have always looked at visibility, showbiz, and compliments with a skeptical eye, did not let themselves be seduced. If anything, they declared a certain admiration for the Flaming Lips, with whom they share the surrealism of the lyrics and an irony always present in the background.
It's impossible not to become attached to this collective from the very start; with their freshness and spontaneity, the four manage to capture you in such a way as to make you feel part of the project. No longer just a listener, but a "family friend" involved in the cause.
“Those Are Not My Bongos” seems, at times, to have been recorded live, it oozes a love for music and sincerity. All the versatile abilities of Fuck are condensed here. It ranges from melodic masterpieces such as “Motherfuckeroos” or “A Vow”, to more adrenaline-pumping tracks like “Hideout”; from jazzy pieces like “Jazz Idiodyssey” to romantic ballads “How To Say” and “The Sandy Man's Name It's Not Sandy.”
If you're looking for genuine quality without showbiz corruption, Those Are Your Bongos!!!
