Freur were a British quintet devoted to electronic pop, best known for the single "Doot Doot". Active 1983–1987, their second album underperformed and the group later reinvented themselves as Underworld.

Their debut single "Doot Doot" received notable attention; the band changed name and direction to become Underworld. When signing their record contract, CBS asked them to adopt the word "Freur" alongside their original squiggle symbol.
