I was eagerly awaiting the release of the new album. The single "Ulysses" had been playing on the radio for months now.
It is evident from the very first listen, as well as from the single, that it is a more dance than rock album. I heard sounds and effects that seem to come from a group like the Gorillaz. Overpowering bass, dark atmospheres—in short, electronics favored over guitars. The post-punk label that pegged them as an indie rock band has definitely been set aside to make room for an exploration of a different musical field.
All this to say that just as I appreciated the single opening the album, I also appreciate the album itself. Definitely better than the Killers' and very different from Interpol's. I appreciate the care, the musical exploration that makes the band and group almost futuristic. You can sense the three years spent creating this album and the modernization in the results.
I like "Lucid Dream" and the electronic final part that comes as a surprise after a very classic track that, yes, leaves you a bit bewildered but serves to remind that rock and electronics can be mixed and explored. The album closes with "Katherine Kiss Me"—voice and acoustic guitar, the most unexpected after the 30 minutes of previous listening. Probably to remind us that they can also write beautiful tracks and that if they want, they can return to what they were.

What captures our attention during the listening of 'Tonight' is the rhythm, which has gained even greater importance than in the past.
'Tonight' offers 43 minutes of fun and carefree enjoyment excellently packaged, leaving us hopeful for new and surprising evolutions from this Scottish group.
