A single DeBaser review (ilfreddo) treats Funeral Party as an exaggerated, gleefully irreverent English comedy. The reviewer compares its tone to Four Weddings and a Funeral and praises its high rhythm of gags while noting occasional excess. Overall: entertaining and lively.

For:Fans of offbeat ensemble comedies, English humour, and Frank Oz's directorial work

The strength of the film does not lie so much in the skill of the actors but in the strictly exaggerated story and the absurd overall situation that gradually unfolds.
