Frank Gambale has been busy with various collaborations with many great artists, achieving extraordinary results, but in my opinion, this solo work of his, released in 2000, is the example of what he can truly do with his guitar. The first thing that strikes you is the touch of this great guitarist, making each song on the album unique to the point where listening to them just once is not enough; you feel the urge to replay them over and over again.
A true demonstration of creativity and inventiveness; this is the most fitting comment for "Coming To Your Senses". Each track is always a surprise, full of melody and the amazing rhythms typical of fusion. For this album containing ten wonderful gems, Frank Gambale enlisted the participation of Hans Zemhuelen on keyboards, Ric Fierabracci on bass, and Mark Shulman, Joel Taylor, Enzo Todesco, and Ray Brinker on drums.
The most amazing tracks on the CD are probably "Isola D'Elba", "The Italian Job", and "Loch Ness Monster", but the other songs should not be forgotten because each one is a real masterpiece, trust me!!! Even if he is not a very well-known guitarist, he is undoubtedly someone not to be taken lightly, and if you've never heard of him, I highly recommend you get yourself some of his albums.
I truly recommend this one, or other works of his like "Brave New Guitar" or "Imagery Suite". Enjoy listening!
