Franco Evangelisti (born 1926 in Rome, died 1980) was an Italian composer associated with electronic and experimental music. He participated in Darmstadt summer courses (1952–1960) and was a member of the Gruppo di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza.

Participated in Darmstadt summer seminars (1952–1960); came into contact with Edgard Varèse, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Pierre Boulez and Luigi Nono; member of Gruppo di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza (with Ennio Morricone); Edition RZ issued a 1998 double-album collecting many of his works. Key works include Proiezioni sonore, Incontri di fasce sonore, Aleatorio, Proporzioni and Die Schachtel.

Franco Evangelisti (1926–1980) is presented in the reviews as a major Italian figure in mid-20th-century electronic and experimental music. Reviews highlight his use of silence, sound deformation, graphical scores and chance procedures. A 1998 double-album reissue (Edition RZ) collects many important works.
