In the distant 1990, a young man who introduced himself at Sanremo Giovani in 1987 with a pretty good song "Ma non finisce mica qui", released a truly beautiful and emotional record.
Francesco Hertz (real name of Francesco Gualerzi, unforgettable singer of the Nomadi from 1993 to 1997) with his sax creates songs with dreamy atmospheres, and the lyrics are also of remarkable quality. Just consider in the song "Voglio fermarmi" the phrase Cerco dentro me il motivo a quelle stelle cadenti che danno solo più velocità, or in the song "Marco" A me piaceva andare a guardare i treni, se rallentavano saltavo su.
The romantic voice of Hertz (which will show its best in songs with the Nomadi, especially in "Donna" and "Il mattino dopo") echoes throughout the record and gives a significant touch to songs that at first glance may seem unripe, but then turn into real gems semi-forgotten in a drawer of a bedside table stored in the basement by a record industry that is not very attentive to works of the recent past.
I recommend the record not only to fans of the Nomadi, but to anyone who loves listening to high-level Italian music. Unfortunately, I believe it was never reissued on CD and that it is only available on LP, and it’s also difficult to find, but if by chance you come across this vinyl, well, don’t hesitate to buy it!
Only after you have listened to it will you understand what a masterpiece it is.
