After winning the Sanremo Festival 2017, Francesco Gabbani releases his third album in three years, titled "Magellano". In addition to the winner, now an earworm, "Occidentali's Karma" and the cover of "Susanna" by Adriano Celentano, the singer from Carrara offers us seven other easy-to-listen tracks, some with sociological lyrics following the trend of the Festival's winning song. Among these are the title track, which highlights the summer holiday in anticipation of the upcoming season, and the successful "Pachidermi e pappagalli" (or "Occidentali's Karma #2"), perhaps destined to be released as a single. The other aspect of the brief work (9 tracks for 30 minutes) is the sentiments and carefree vibe of the summer. The latter is expressed in "Tra le granite e le granate", a single released three days ago and sure to be a hit on Italian beaches in a few months. Reflection, however, is present in "A moment of silence", in "La mia versione dei ricordi", while in the concluding "Spogliarmi", reflection is accompanied by irony. Also noteworthy is another song already released in 2016, "Foglie al gelo", the soundtrack of the Christmas film "Poveri ma ricchi" by Fausto Brizzi. Produced by Luca Chiaravalli, for a brief and catchy album as mentioned, a decent compromise between artistic and commercial ambition. On the cover, our artist looks through a compass, embodying in a contemporary key the figure of the navigator of the first expedition around the globe.
