THE REVIEW

Calipsos is released shortly after "Pezzi" and does not differ much from it, perhaps it is less electric.

Like the previous albums, it is very direct with songs that are easy to sing along to.

It opens cautiously with "Cardiologia" and continues with the beautiful "La linea della vita", from a musical standpoint perhaps "Mayday" is the best track.

A wonderful album to listen to while traveling. Once again, De Gregori proves to be a great songwriter, though some innovation would be hoped for.

Summary by Bot

Calypso by Francesco De Gregori closely follows his previous album Pezzi with a similarly direct and melodic style. The album is less electric but offers easy-to-sing-along songs. Standout tracks include "La linea della vita" and "Mayday." Overall, it's a lovely album suited for travel, though it lacks major innovation.

 It's not De Gregori's fault.

It's probably us who have nothing left to say.
