When talking about Fozzy, it's hard not to notice who the frontman is. Many, including myself, have discovered this band precisely because of him. Six-time world champion, nine-time Intercontinental champion, and the first Undisputed Champion in WWE history... his majesty Chris "Y2J" Jericho. Jericho is currently one of the most beloved wrestlers in the federation, as well as one of the oldest, and throughout his legendary career, he has garnered a vast and loyal fan base who hang on his every word. Unfortunately, this is likely the reason for Fozzy's success, namely the presence of a figure who, outside of music, achieved his own (and WWE's) fortune thanks to his innate charisma. I say this because, in my opinion, the quality of Fozzy's albums is unfortunately not very high, and this Chasing The Grail is proof of that. It is not a bad album by any means... it is simply an album that one could do without, in my opinion. There are good moments like the opener Under Blackened Skies or Let The Madness Begin, songs that are as simple as they are pleasant to listen to, but nothing more. This platter is a collection of good Heavy/Groove Metal tracks, but it contains nothing original or particularly memorable. But perhaps that is precisely Jericho and company's goal, to write simple Metal albums without too many frills that are easy to listen to without being groundbreaking. Therefore, this is the "advice" I feel like giving. If you're looking for original, hyper-technical, experimental records and the like, definitely look elsewhere... but if instead, you're seeking a simple, fun album that's great for carefree headbanging, Chasing The Grail could really be what you're looking for, and you might even like it a lot. As for me, I prefer Jericho in the ring, with a list of "stupid idiots" in his hand and his mocking attitude. But as we all know, tastes are not the same...
