The old magazines announced to all Green Day fans that the band would return to the studio in January 2008 to record a new CD. The band is composed of the members of Green Day playing garage music under a pseudonym. However, the wait was shortened for the group's fans, as they opened a MySpace page under another name, Foxboro Hot Tubs. The band's identity was not immediately revealed; initially, the group was anonymous, only after some live shows were they "unmasked."
For their debut, they released the following album on April 29, 2008: "Stop Drop and Roll". A collection of 12 tracks based on the 1960s garage rock style and 1970s garage punk. Far from their usual punk-rock, closer to past artists like Iggy Pop and the Smiths. A few days ago, a letter arrived at MTV's studios from the Green Day confirming that they were indeed the Foxboro. The musical world is thus convinced that it is them, after the discovery made first by DJ Rosstar, a personality of U.S. web radio and a Green Day fan, who noticed the numerous similarities between the latter and the Foxboro Hot Tubs, including the unmistakable voice of Billie Joe Armstrong. An experiment? A fun pastime? No one knows. What matters to the fans is that the three bad boys continue to surprise more and more! And now we just have to wait for the release of their next album, as all their fans are eager to take "American Idiot" out of their stereo and replace it with a new, even more exciting Green Day album! But in the meantime, let's enjoy this surprise album they have reserved for us...
