THE REVIEW

Forward Russia, that is, four English lads with a passion for music. Here are the newcomers on the indie scene; they hail from Leeds and bring with them plenty of ideas and a willingness to make an impact. They create a hybrid music that is a mix of punk, electro, and dance: sharp riffs, electronic sounds, distorted and screaming vocals, as well as a good dose of rhythm and aggressiveness.

So you go from the delirium of Seven to the anger of Nine, from the electronic intro of Thirteen to the biting tones of Twelve; each track corresponds to a number, nothing more essential. Of course, ¡Forward, Russia! draw from the sacred masters (Clash – Pistols), but they enrich their sound through the use of synths and dance beats. The result is a varied musical pot, full of different genres and influences, which one may like or not, but overall, it's worth a listen.

Recommended for the most underground enthusiasts.
