And where the heck do these guys come from?

Let's start by saying that their debut album cannot possibly be rated as a sufficient work; in fact, I would opt for a severely insufficient, yet it's not the case to dismiss them completely without hesitation or not talk about them at all. Because, unlike that million of bands that keep on relentlessly producing photocopies and unnecessarily using up toner and sheets of paper (consequently leading to deforestation...), Formloff are on a different level.

Formloff try to do, which translates into playing, composing, and creating, something inherently their own. Only, the impression is that they should have clarified their ideas among themselves (there are two of them, Bernt Karsten Sannerud and Marius Sjøli) before releasing "Adjo Oilo"...! To say they start from something that could be avant-black is quite easy, but then they throw in electronic contaminations, programmed and synthesized, which, as they are, don't add any value, rather, they result in excessive confusion. Then there are progressive openings, others death metal, others still between surreal pop and theatrical rock and insertions of organ and mandolin, but reigning supreme is confusion and, which determines their condemnation, approximation.

Almost seems like everything was done to try to amaze, but without succeeding...!
