The Italian alternative rock scene, in addition to being rich in bands, often presents pleasant surprises at the record level. Attention was drawn to Forever Ended Yesterday, a band from Cuneo active since 2008 but only now coming into the national spotlight through “Imiarma.” Based on the strong vocal interpretation by singer Frankie, the young quintet has focused their attention on names such as Paramore and similar artists, yet they have heavyened the sound with a decidedly more heavy structure than their well-known overseas counterparts. This choice leads us to support the claims of many regarding the album, which sees Forever Ended Yesterday inclined to what Hopes Die Last did at their debut (supporting this are some screamo parts present in the songs).
Decisively more incisive in rock-oriented environments, they offer enjoyable and well-structured tracks, despite some flaws due to inexperience found in the endings of some tracks, decidedly underwhelming. Flaws that do not, however, affect the medium-high level of the product, with tracks like “Something More” and “Silly Worm” above average. The production is very good, which highlights especially the voice of the singer, the true protagonist of this “Imiarma.” A band endowed with good ideas, which, if well managed (some aspects need to be reviewed, such as the image and presentation of the project in the first place), will yield excellent results.
