Here he is, Andrew Broder, also known as Fog, creator of small, ingenious "experimental tunes," tackling our stupid questions.

Hi Andrew, and congratulations on your valuable work. First of all, where are you and what are you doing at this moment?
Hi and thank you. I'm in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. In a room of my house, where the computer is. At this moment, I’m smoking a joint and answering questions, playing the guitar and listening distractedly to a "liberal" talk (liberal? radical? vulgar? who knows! translation_failure_note) on the radio.

How was "10th Avenue Freakout" born? What goals did you have? Are you satisfied with the result?
I had just moved into an apartment on 10th Avenue North in Minneapolis, where Julie had been living long before I arrived. From the moment I stepped in, I knew I would want to spend a lot of time there. And so I naturally started making music there. The "Hummer EP," as well as "10th Avenue Freakout," were mainly made there. My goal was to make a good record, better than the previous one. On that front, I am satisfied. But I rarely stay satisfied for long.

Who is the artist you admire the most and why?
It's a difficult question, there are many artists I admire for a variety of different reasons. But if I had to choose just one, Bob Dylan.

Pick the Fog song with your favorite lyrics. Can you explain it to us?
I like this one: "Pea-Brained and Pacing/ Wearing Triangular paper party hats/ Parrots/ Witnessing a murder..."
The disposable paper party hat is the most ridiculous human invention that comes to mind. That, or the atomic bomb.

It seems that your next album will be very different from the previous ones...
Definitely, yes. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be fun.
