The Profile

Fluxus is a Turin-based post-hardcore/noise rock band formed in 1991 by Franz Goria, Luca Pastore, Roberto Rabellino, and Adriano Cresto. Noted for dual bass/guitar assaults, politically engaged lyrics, and ferocious delivery, they released key albums between 1994 and 2002.

Debut: Vita In Un Pacifico Mondo Nuovo (1994); follow-ups: Non Esistere (1996), Pura Lana Vergine (1998), Fluxus (2002). Collaborations on Non Esistere include Roberto "Tax" Farano and Marco Mathieu (Negazione), with production involvement from Iain Burgess. Pura Lana Vergine was released by Edizioni de "Il Manifesto"; the track "Lacrime Di Sangue" was heavily censored on MTV. Singer Franz Goria later formed Petrol.

Reviews celebrate Fluxus as a fiercely political Turin band blending post-hardcore and noise rock. Albums from 1994 to 2002 spark praise for intensity, dual-bass/guitar storms, and sharp, engaged lyrics. Highlights include Pura Lana Vergine and Non Esistere, with live ferocity repeatedly noted. The band’s marginal commercial fate contrasts with critical acclaim.
