The Fleshgrind return, presenting us with their second effort.
"The Seeds Of Abismal Torment" is the follow-up to "Destined For Defilement," the album where the great adventure of these four guys began. It was already a good debut, but to be honest, besides not being heavily publicized, this CD didn't evoke much aggressiveness, which is the hallmark of this genre.
After a line-up change that introduced a new drummer, the band seems to have found the right gear, given the significant change in sound, rhythms, and song structure. The album is much more aggressive, as mentioned earlier, and manages to push much further in terms of speed, with each song taking its own shape and easily distinguishing itself from the others.
The sound is very rich and full, as well as heavy and brutal. The work done by the drummer is much more intricate and varied, the songs are much more fluid and much less boring than "Destined...".
I must say that for an album of this type, more listens are required to integrate the group's style and the chosen sound type. We are certainly facing a remarkable work produced by people who want to make themselves known and scream their brutal anthem to the entire world!
Worth noting is the participation of Lenzig, the singer of Cephalic Carnage, in the following songs: "Monarch Of Misery", "Desire For Control", and "The Deviating Ceremonies" (the different vocal nuances are immediately noticeable).
Songs like the ones just mentioned, "The Supreme Art Of Derangement," or "Hogtied And Hatefucked" are true punches to the gut.
A cut above the majority of other groups.
