LA RECENSIONE

Two years after their debut album "Full Of Nothing," First Brawl returns with a new EP titled "Turning Point." As with its predecessor, we are faced with what we could define as new school hardcore, which over the years (especially during the period when metalcore took hold) has led hardcore music to take a decisive turn toward heavier sounds. Speaking of this new mini album, it's quite pleasing to notice how the band from Emilia has matured artistically, managing to bring out their songs without having to forcibly rely on generated fury. A clear example could be "Disquiet Distress," where the quartet, besides ranging between NYHC and the bone-crushing riffing of Terror and Hatebreed, succeeds in conveying that live attitude that is always well-received in this genre. The production also plays in favor of the band, with a much more refined sound compared to the debut and a mix that successfully isolates the vocals from the generated sonic chaos. If the intent of this "Turning Point" was to highlight the artistic growth of this project, there's no denying it, the goal has definitely been achieved!
