LA RECENSIONE

Being a former DJ, replacing the mixer with an acoustic guitar, recording albums (and what albums!) for voice and guitar only with an "electronic" record label like Ninja Tune and finally calling yourself "scorfano"... and then they tell me that miracles don't exist?

All this is Fink, a bard of the modern soul with four albums to his credit, each more beautiful than the last, completely ignored by the public and critics... But better that way, given the trend of modern music that seems to equate success inversely proportional to the real quality of the music.

In an imaginary place, where the Damien Rice of "O" meets Portishead, you will find Fink.

In this "Perfect Darkness" the acoustic component prevails thanks to the way our musician plays, not using a pick, giving a "Spanish-like" touch to compositions that extend over delicate electronic textures reminiscent of Bristol's Trip-hop.

There is a certain honesty in Fink: an emotionally intense album, straightforward in the lyrics (Honesty) and suitable for embracing autumn.

It's nice to rediscover that even today music doesn't need fake million-dollar appearances.
