Formed in Bellevue, Washington in 1984, Fifth Angel play a melodic, epic-tinged strain of American heavy/power metal. Their self-titled debut was released by Shrapnel Records in 1986 and reissued by Epic Records in 1988. Classic-era members include vocalist Ted Pilot, guitarists James Byrd and Ed Archer, bassist John Macko, and drummer Ken Mary. Subsequent albums include Time Will Tell (1989), The Third Secret (2018), and When Angels Kill (2023).
