Witches and Alchemists

Superconsciousness is the ability to attune our body and mind with the soul, the ability to elevate the spirit in search of inner peace, the same Peace of mind sung by Margaret in "W.Memphis", everyday life contains the energy and the spark that lights up the path, the restless teaching that leads to tranquility, the right vibration that delivers peace.

Margaret Wienk takes us into a fantastic world of seductive melodies and images of dark forests laden with a sinister aura and primitive beauty that is impossible to resist, the folk sounds bring us back to the Pentangle or Vashti Bunyan, Celtic and Medieval energy, which brings the imagination to the messianic rituals of Provence witches and to the alchemy that transforms matter.

Harps, guitars, and violas evoke a set of feelings and emotions that slide from the real world to the fairy tale, they describe the forest and its extension to the sea, where the water foams, creating a circle that explains the power of nature.

"Music for Witches and Alchemists" is the acidic journey to the edge of the world where fantasy escapes reality, it is the journey where beauty and darkness walk hand in hand, and the music is the Knight that descends deep to kindle the light.

The music celebrates the beauty of nature and highlights the lament, destruction is on the horizon, tales of everyday life, the darkening sun, and Fern Knight enters the forest alone, laments a lost love and reunites with old friends, Meg Baird, Greg Weeks, Otto Hauser, Jesse Sparhawk, the Espers of "Flaming Telepaths", baroque melancholies and sad accordions blow bringing surreal and velvety Gothic mists.

Music for Witches and Alchemists is a dark and acoustic album that takes us back to a '70s folk atmosphere, a dark corner illuminated by a flickering candle, a folk tale that comes from the voice of a drugged siren who dances barefoot in the moonlight.

Margaret Wienk illustrates her fantastical, lush, Celtic world, her music goes deep to the edges of darkness to bring light, an escape between fantasy and memory where everything is lost at the margins of spirit and inner peace.

Timeless music, this is "Music for Witches and Alchemists", recorded in 2006 for VHF, three years after the debut and two years before the self-titled album of 2008, music that finds its strength only after a few listens, beyond the fog of the initial impact the light that pierces the forest can be seen and amidst ravens and snakes one can finally dance with the witches.

"The joyful rays of the soul can be perceived if you internalize your attention,
and if you educate the mind to enjoy the marvelous scenario
of the thoughts of the invisible kingdom enclosed within you"                              Yogi
