THE REVIEW

In the year 2001 while the towers were falling down, a black man from Chicago (City of House) released a collection of electro tracks (later called "Album").
"Kittenz and thee Glitz" the title of the album plays with the identities of the main creators: Felix da Housecat (the black man from Chicago mentioned above) and Miss Kittin.

Now the genius of Gatto Feliciano was to be one of the first to dust off Italo disco and then to slyly ride the electroclash wave just when people started talking about electroclash.

And to do this, he, as a DJ and producer who was already feeling the Chicago beat since 1987, chose a worthy partner, one who brings out certain catchy tunes, like: "Happy Hour, Sun Shower, Inno Hit, Gives you Power!" I can already see the big cheese from across the Alps on the riverbank blasting Moroder with the boombox (Inno Hit or Sanyo, your choice...) supercharged with towers.

Apart from the obvious and almost necessary Kraftwerkian citations, which if you don't make them you can't really say you're electroclash, in this album, there's also "Magic Fly" cover paparazzied by Space a super classic of the first electro, and there's also the beautiful "She Lives" which seems to also come from that golden period of disco music, incredible...

In "Silver Screen", the two lovebirds decide to assemble their minds in a regime of asset sharing, the result is a bi-flavored masterpiece, Felice contributes these somewhat glassy percussive samples and Miss Kittin adds these impactful spoken rhymes (Sweet Seduction in a magazine / Endless pleasure in Limousine...) that whether you like it or not have become a stylistic element of dance music.

If we add to all this the interludes with both of their voices recorded by the answering machine (sly self-citationism) we can also affirm that in a certain way, this album can be a small manifesto of electronic disco music, which is self-citationist and why not, sly as well.
