Olufela Olusegun Oludotun Ransome-Kuti (Fela Kuti, 1938–1997) was a Nigerian musician, bandleader, composer and political activist who pioneered Afrobeat.

Leader of the bands Afrika 70 (and earlier Africa '70 variants). Long-term collaborator with drummer Tony Allen. Music mixes funk, jazz and African rhythms and often addresses social and political themes.
