THE REVIEW

These are not normal. We notice it from every detail, the name, the album cover (what is it?), the song titles, the quirky lyrics, these guys are out of their minds. One of the weirdest bands of the 00s (maybe). They are crazy and schizophrenic, shocking, giving their tracks titles like "Dog Sized Bird" (And what if the bird in question was an ostrich, how about that huh? huh?) and "Ten Seconds In Los Angeles" during which listening you can't help but look around disoriented. "The Always Open Mouth" is even more neurotic, experimental, and insane than the two predecessors; it is mainly Post-Hardcore, the authentic one, crazy, schizophrenic, and brilliant, with many other undefined genres mixed together to create an alienating, disorienting, and bizarre blend. You know bands like Blood Brothers and Bear Vs. Shark, well, we are in similar territories but more sinister, unknown, and bizarre, ultimately better.

"The Always Open Mouth" is a very strange album, a record that will seem strange even after 2176622626 listens, this is probably what makes it irresistible, it is the strength of Fear Before The March Of Flames, capable of releasing something like this in 2006 when their genre (no, wait always if they can be put in a genre) was increasingly stereotyped in the clutches of the wrong bands and fans, in the hands of bands that made the wrong music at the wrong time trying to classify it as respectable.

"The Always Open Mouth" is a rare gem, still shrouded in mystery, to be studied and understood deeply to know and preserve "musical biodiversity". We needed and need people who stand out, who are not afraid to affirm their uniqueness, and when we called Fear Before The March Of Flames, they responded
