Norman Cook (from now on Fatboy Slim) at the debut, even before implanting in our heads that incredible tune we all know: "Right About Now, The Funk Soul Brother Check It Out Now!", the year is 1996 and he releases "Better Living Through Chemistry".

In the midst of the '90s Big Beat scene, the English DJ delivers a true monolith of the genre, crafting an album that, trust me, plays smoothly, seamlessly, with the usual summery/party vibe that characterizes Fatboy Slim's production; an album not commercial at all, meticulously crafted, where you can feel our dear friend's past as a bassist.

There's often the feeling of "ah, I must have heard this somewhere before but I can't remember where...", there are two possibilities: many tracks have been featured in TV episodes, commercials, etc., or it's the album that is so immediately engaging that it all feels familiar (but take care, it will take ages before you get tired of it!).

Whether it's Guitar-Hero moves, headbanging, or simple hip swaying, this album certainly won't leave you standing still, it's perfect for a summer party or to thump-thump in the car, but in a much cooler way.

It is best savored if listened to in one go, without interruptions, without breaking the blazing atmosphere, starting with Song For Lindy, moving through the rockish Going Out Of My Head, a relaxing pause with The Weekend Starts Here, and straight to The Sound Of Milwaukee: I'm here listening to it on a rainy January day, already dreaming of next summer, the beach, parties, surfing, alcohol, women...
