Fast Animals and Slow Kids

Musical Group

Formed in Perugia in 2007, Fast Animals and Slow Kids (often FASK) are an Italian four-piece known for energetic live shows and albums such as Cavalli, Hybris and Alaska.

From reviews and public sources: the project began in 2007 with members Aimone, Alessandro, Alessio and Jacopo. Early releases include the EP Questo è un cioccolattino and the 2011 debut Cavalli, recorded with support from Appino and Giulio Favero and released via Iceforeveryone. Hybris was recorded with involvement from Andrea Marmorini and released on Woodworm; Alaska followed as a more studied second/full-length step. The band name is inspired by The Griffins (Family Guy). Frontman Aimone Romizi is frequently noted for theatrical vocals and strong stage presence.

DeBaser published three reviews of Fast Animals and Slow Kids covering Hybris (2013), Alaska (2015) and a 2015 live show in Catania. The coverage highlights energetic live performances, theatrical vocals by frontman Aimone Romizi and a mix of post-punk, indie and post-rock elements. Hybris is praised for youthful exuberance; Alaska is described as more studied and mature.

The Fast Animals And Slow Kids, whose moniker is inspired by an episode of Family Guy where Peter watches a cartoon on TV showing a beast chasing an obese child, have successfully passed this stage.

What is striking about the four guys, especially about frontman Aimone Romizi, is the ease with which he stands on stage and his effortless interaction with the audience, coming across as very likeable, never taking himself too seriously.
