The Far'n'Hate come from Girona (Spain), a band we can define as active in terms of discography, given the two EPs and albums they've released from 2007 to today. Their style has slightly evolved over time, transitioning from being a typical overused metalcore band to a hybrid between the aforementioned genre and modern metal, which has recently come back into fashion. "Eternal" is perhaps the highest artistic expression produced by the quintet so far, a work that could satisfy both the more refined palates (those who regularly listen to Swedish school melodic death metal) and those looking for impact. As often happens in these situations, the production plays an important role in the final result, and this case is certainly an example of that, with sounds pumped to the extreme capable of building that sonic wall that often manages to mask the flaws of a product. Despite their youth, the Far'n'Hate demonstrate good technical mastery, frequently delivering well-crafted solos and tasteful passages, leaving the task to the vocals (which center around the usual growl/melodic dualism) to create the right scenario each time. "Always Overcome," "Born In Sin" (with a very In Flames-like intro), and "Horizons" (the second single from the album, from which a video was also extracted) are the best examples of the entire lot, songs distinguished by a wide range of instrumental solutions adopted. Certainly, this "Eternal" has invented nothing, but it surely knows how to do its homework, without any real flaws, although, perhaps, some breakdowns could have been avoided.
