How the hell I waited for the right completeness to talk about this masterpiece, and now, tonight, 18 minutes into it, the morning of 9/6/05, two days and a few hours away from my decisive exams and a crucial victory or defeat, I find myself listening to the rapper-songwriter, and his depth, in 17 incredible tracks of pure hiphop...

Fabri has an incredible virtue: he is the storyteller of every mood, every state of mind, every person. He is the perfect rapper; rappers are born as spokesmen for their people, Fabri is the spokesman for Italy, the Italy of offices, streets, houses, families, addicts, and the horrible yet fascinating world under the spotlight "scattano le indagini" is the first track, opening with a part of the freestyle with esa "gnocca," Fabri is deep, by now we are used to his reflectiveness, which makes him unique. "non conta come stai coi più forti, se ti rapporti con i più fragili" Fabri has a warm voice that remains composed, the beats are by Neffa, who was once a master of the night; I define him like this for his nocturnal hiphop-jazz beats, the fibra perfectly adapts (sorry again for the lowercase, but it's stronger than me), thus creating a perfect union between his voice and the beat, opening the doors to a nocturnal cd, "Luna Piena", sweet rap, confusion, and love torments, Fabri is delicate "io quanti errori commetto, tienimi stretto", with a blurred beat, a soft base on his rhymes with a night owl and pure cadence... this is the Fabri Fibra of lost lovers' nights, disappointed or squalid brief encounters under other sheets or cars, the nocturnal Fibra of wet beds and turned-on TVs, nightmares and insomnia, he is the Fibra in each of us... "Dalla A alla Z", is the strong song of the cd, the one that caused the biggest stir, alphabetically the most recent story of our land and of the people living in it, from bombings, to religions, to doubts, to music, to politics, to piracy, "geni, Gesù, Giuliani", "dalla a alla z è l'uomo che prega iddio, nonostante il demonio in noi si fa il suo duomo, io, faccio fatica a radunar le mie forze, esercitati, oggi radunano gli eserciti", it talks about love, multi-ethnicities, etc... everything, the human being from a to z, from terrorism to zen, there's truly everything in not even 3 minutes.
"Dove Fuggi?", a plunge into the reality of the provincial who flees to the city to find fortune, who is swept away by the metropolis, but when she returns, she will always have the provincial inside... it's a very important manifesto: never deny your roots. "Di Fretta" is one of those I prefer, because Fabri Fibra becomes a worker, an employee, and busts his ass, in a hurry "questo tempo non ci aspetta", a complete immersion in the hurried and working daily life of each of us. But he digs even deeper, in an escalation to the profound until reaching the most important and inner hurry, "fin troppi ragazzi vedo che vanno di fretta" the one that progress has primarily caused on our desire to do things, our will to live, according to Fabri, we live too fast, and thus we fail to enjoy the best moments due to the excessive hurry of wanting to have them back... relive them...
"Fuori Norma", on a beat that seems a Neffian cross of nocturnal jazzy sound and an American videoclip beat, it talks about betrayals, how most couple relationships are nothing more than vanity contests, on who conquers and hides more "lo fai con l'eleganza d'un sire e un certo stile, o solo per la paura che hai di appassire, per appassire intendo il tempo, strofe da scomporre, mentre lentamente il tempo scorre". Everything, over time, turns into love, and becomes out of norm, or from out of norm it transforms, evolves, or undergoes involutions "quanta la gente che per quel che sei ti considera?". It follows with "Ci Penso Dopo", laziness, hurry, doing everything together is bad, even Ebbinghaus said that massive learning didn't help memory, distributive was better, so Fabri doesn't want to do everything together, neither do any of us. We would all like to "do it later", but unfortunately, it's always a rush. It's our little, everyday drama.
With "Mi Stai Sul Cazzo" Fabri Fibra introduces that annoying little voice characteristic of Mr.Simpatia, we don't know who he is talking about, someone who pisses him off, a whole stanza dedicated to "mi stai sul cazzo, mi stai sul cazzo". The beat is almost hardcore, and drum 'n' bass, and above it, Fibra is inimitable... "Per Averti Qui", what drives a boy to do drugs? "enigmi, logaritmi", what pushes us into depression "troppa tv"? In two words, biorhythms, why do men love, why do they hate, why do they change, why... "1000 domande rivolte a quali enigmi"..."se i ragazzi che si fanno sono assunti di che"..."quante cose fai in bioritmi?" everything depends on them, too many questions too many enigmas, on a low beat, a bit noir, sighed underneath... and many enigmas above... up to the biggest one, love "cosa non darei per averti qui, cosa non darei per saper poi come, come non restar così".
"Come Te" with Al Castellana's choruses is splendid, evidently during this work Fabri was in love, such a love song is a pearl to keep close in a steel showcase... inside "vorrei che tutto fosse come te", the beat is characterized by bass and flute samples, Al Castellana perfectly adapts until reaching grace, along with Fabri, giving us a perfect dedication for whoever we love "vorrei fermare il tempo"..."vorrei perderti e ritrovarti ancora"..."vorrei averti nel mio tempo"..."vorrei il tuo tempo per riempirlo con te al centro". "Chi C'è" Fabri is there, he is everywhere, in love, in the squalid reality, in hip hop, Fabri is everywhere."Se Non Dai Il Meglio/No Io" the beat is more cheerful, but Fabri is always of that jovial gloom that distinguishes him... the song can be understood as encouragement for those, like me, who every day strive to give their best, for their own best even if "a volte il meglio può mandarci in crisi".
In "In Quanti" it talks about world news, on an alien and hypnotic beat, "è colpa mia se ho paura dei fatti?", life and growth become hallucinatory dances around the news of a world that ends slowly and in an increasingly macabre way. Thus young minds are left shocked for life by the news, by the facts. Then comes the strong piece... my favorite... I love this piece, obsessively for 30 seconds on a splendid and haunting beat Fabri repeats "quello che fai, quello che dai e quello che sai, quand'è che me lo dici?" before starting "Nuovi Stili D'Insonnia" the title is brilliant, the beat is a drum n base, jazzed, perfectly rapped by Fabri Fibra, making it desperate, romantic and disenchanted... friendship, betrayed friendship, the utmost sentiment, wounded... outcome, holes in the soul vomited on a beat, making this piece unique, and friendship frustrated by the amorous obsessions of the one who misleads your best friend, who remains very ambiguous towards you "il mondo è un drogato, sorridendo peggiora d'ora in ora, di giorno in giorno", it's a brilliant phrase, followed by a baby's laugh, in turn followed by a piece rapped darkly as an outro to the rest of the piece, with the usual Neffian beat that repeats, inimitable. The result is a clear, haunting, and unique hiphop blues. With Nesly, Fabri talks about the notorious "Personaggi Di Passaggio" who populate the show, rap, the world itself, every corner of our daily life. Fabri and Nesly alternate on a very fresh beat. It's always an emotion to hear the two brothers rap.
Follows "Di Noi" the question is "di noi che fai ?" and the answer is "niente di eccezionale, scelta direzionale", it can be interpreted in any way, from the destiny of a couple, the destiny of the world, this piece synthesizes the mediocrity that dawns in each of us. Ends with "Ma Che Persona", on par with all the others.

And now for the rating. What kind of person is Fabri Fibra? Wicked, irreverent, crazy as in Mr.Simpatia or romantic, disenchanted, and delicate as in Turbe Giovanili. It's unknown; he loves questioning himself, expressing what he feels, his discomfort, and his love; he is always brilliant. And precisely his variety shows us how this artist is a sacred monster of this Italian genre. Five to a cd that illuminates me every night, opening doors and lights on colored and earthly shadows, that cross me every day, touch me every moment, without me being aware. Five to a cd that you can pump in your car while you're going to work... Five to a cd that speaks, or rather raps, about all of us, no one excluded... and five to a character who always gives his best to rap, and to whom rap owes much.

Some love him, and some hate him, meanwhile he mixes these feelings and weaves them into plots that he pours onto beats given to him by Neffa, Nesly, Bassi, Mondo Marcio, or Dj Mike, or whoever's turn it is, and allows us to dream, to love, and hate in his very personal playground, on the outskirts of the Italian sound, where the best poet has a mike as his only weapon and defense, instrument and lover...
