THE REVIEW

The Extrema have been the standard-bearers of extreme metal in Italy for years now, and they have the merit (and that is NO small thing!!!) of having started proposing this genre before it became "extremely" (sorry for the pun...) trendy... before Pantera were playing on your grandma's radio, in short!

This new work reminds us that experience, live, in the studio, and on the road, is no small thing, so much so that the band moves with considerable confidence in territories they know well, in the name of notable energy and sonic violence, but above all with a compactness and overall sound that only years of metal dedication can give! "Generation" opens the album and tells us EVERYTHING, the ultra-compressed guitars, the voice, the structure is typical of Extrema, and that's fine... "Dude" and "All Around" (also available in remix versions) are perhaps the most successful tracks, even though the overall level of the compositions is high, considering that the genre itself never allows too much space for variety!

A welcome confirmation, an implicit warning to many bands just starting out: the sound is given by the years, not by managers in search of the "new sensation".

Extrema

Extrema is an Italian thrash metal band formed in the 1980s and led by guitarist Tommy Massara.
