THE REVIEW

For my first review, I find myself talking about what should be the album of "confirmation" of the good things shown to us by Evile. What can be said about "Infected Nations"? Driven by enthusiasm after listening to the band's debut album, "Enter The Grave," I felt like expanding my knowledge, so to speak. Once the album started, the title track awaited me, or rather "Infected Nation," without the final "s." In my opinion, it's an excellent piece, so much so that I was prepared for another good album. However, right after comes "Now Demolition," which I even struggled to listen to until the end due to the rhythms being too slow compared to the standards of the British band. Very original is the chorus, in which Matt Drake repeats in a melancholic and monotonous tone two words: "now" and... "demolition." Well, well. The third track is "Nosophoros," another powerful piece that led me to think that the second track was an exception compared to the rest of the album. Unfortunately, as I continued listening, I reluctantly concluded that the exceptions are indeed the two positive tracks. In fact, the rest of the album is in the style of "Now Demolition," with slow rhythms that, when executed by Evile, even make the most die-hard thrasher wince. Imagine the average listener.

The album concludes with the very long instrumental track "Hundred Wrathful Deities" (trad. "One Hundred Wrathful Deities"), over 11 minutes long. Besides, the other songs weren't much shorter. Perhaps the one hundred deities got furious due to such a decline of a promising group like the British one. With a style essentially similar yet at the same time completely different from the debut album, only the good Ol, Matt's brother, with his solos and the drummer Ben Carter, who pushes even when there is very little to push, are saved.

In summary: recommended? Don't be ridiculous. Listen to "Enter The Grave" instead. My final rating for this heavy-to-listen album (even though it's composed of only 9 tracks) is 2/5. Simply because 1/5 is for Justin Bieber's albums.

Summary by Bot

This review criticizes Evile's second album, Infected Nations, for its slow rhythms and unengaging tracks compared to the band's debut Enter The Grave. Only a few songs and certain musicians stand out, but the album is overall heavy to listen to and disappointing. The reviewer gives it 2 out of 5 stars and recommends revisiting the debut album instead.
