Evgeny Nikitin (born 1973 in Murmansk) is a Russian baritone who graduated from the St. Petersburg Conservatory and made his early debut at the Mariinsky Theatre. He has performed at major houses including the Metropolitan Opera, Théâtre du Châtelet, Opéra (Paris) and the Bayerische Staatsoper, and is noted for his Wagnerian roles. In 2012 he was withdrawn from the Bayreuth Festival amid controversy over past tattoos and a teenage black metal background.
