THE REVIEW

Philosopher Plotinus spoke of ecstasy as a detachment from the body, an empty shadow of the One and its lower stages to achieve true happiness and reunite within the One itself. He mentioned various possibilities to reach this state, among them, listening to music. Can music detach us from the world and bring us to a happier place?

I don’t think I can answer that question, but I am sure that there are certain musical albums that manage to fill you with positive or negative emotions and make you forget everything else for a while. However, it is possible that the same music, instead of taking the listener to beloved places, drags them into lands where happiness has long disappeared, the death knells toll every hour, everything once considered beautiful starts to be doubted until it becomes something unpleasant and putrid, you can scream in pain but it’s not enough to escape the emotions that invade you, only negative memories, hope itself is considered an evil, the only evil that didn’t flee from Pandora’s Box and continues to indoctrinate human minds, which can no longer do anything to find well-being.

And here rises the wall of sound of "Dissident", a nearly provocative melody invades the listener, the growls and desperate cries of the singer strike without a moment's respite, Esoteric's music begins to suffocate you, to suck your soul, making it sterile to all possible emotions, there are no solos capable only for a few minutes to calm the tension. The only thing you can do is be enchanted by listening to this music, trying to understand what the musicians want to convey before it's too late, after the initial sense of bewilderment comes anger, hidden human feelings that suddenly return to tear you apart.
Stop'n Go funerals seem to want to announce the death of someone or perhaps something, the music becomes a harbinger of death, after the bell tolls the music speeds up, desperate cries mourn the dead. "The Secret Of The Secret" opens the doors to the end, to final destruction, to the death of the soul, the melody becomes even sadder, the hope that in "Dissident" could still indoctrinate the human soul dies under the power of the guitars that decree the final despair, nothing will be the same, the path is lost, it’s not about traveling through hell to reach purgatory or paradise, the destination is nothing but total emptiness after the wildest suffering.

After losing even the last hope, you reach the true end with "Psychotropic Transgression", now you walk alone on a frozen lake, the screams of the damned become even more piercing, now there are only two paths: fall and let yourself go, thus sinking into total oblivion, or resist further. By now even you realize that resistance brings only more pain, so you let yourself fall, the ice collapses with you, the fall into the void has begun... but instead of diminishing, the suffering becomes ever stronger... would it have been better to resist? Is this the oblivion so desired? Now you ask yourself more and more questions, you try to move your right arm and it doesn’t move... gradually sadness gives way to total anguish... you are becoming an ice statue, is this your eternal condemnation, with the last bit of strength you let out a desperate scream and then NOTHINGNESS...

Suddenly you open your eyes again and find yourself on your bed in your room, the CD you had inserted into the player is finished... the journey to the saddest places of the human mind is over...
