As young as I might be, I love Jannacci too much. His style has represented me for a lifetime, and I can't help but love songs like "Quelli che," "Saltimbanchi," and the too underrated "Obbligatorio." I want to review this album because I believe it's very valid and full of brilliant ideas.

"L'importante è esagerare", from which the album's title is derived, is a nice little song that carries the album well, but it's certainly not the pinnacle of the album's quality. Following that are "L'orchestra" and "Sergej": the former borrows from "Moviola," published on the B-side of the "Linea bianca" single without particularly inspired flourishes, while the latter is a little gem that should be more considered as it remains terribly current. The poetry of "Oriente", a track that will remain indelibly in everyone's mind for better or worse, contrasts with "Son sciopaa", the only semi-Milanese track on the album, which speaks in a surreal dialogue of a drifter asking for a cigarette; beautiful. "Il volatore di aquiloni", in 2019, is still in search of the sea, and that kite flyer could be Jannacci, just as it could be me: I also seek my own sea. "Juke box/Amapola" closes the album with a track that seems almost like a medley; interesting and well-executed.

Overall, this album is very interesting and very beautiful; I highly recommend listening to it (all the tracks are on YouTube).
