ENRICO RUGGERI - "MUD AND STARS"
Year 1996, two years after the excellent album "Lost Objects", our artist presents another ambitious work, a concept, named "Mud and Stars".
Unfortunately, this CD will not achieve great sales profits, despite being a valuable work and despite the participation in Sanremo during the same year to promote it. At the festival, in particular, he decides to present "Love is a Moment", with effective lyrics, one of the best on the album. Indeed, in one passage it reads as follows:
"Love is a moment to truly live\ it dies from habit, that sincere moment\ and those who demand love are already far from me\ as I am running away from here..."
Another delightful song, both for lyrics and arrangement, is "The Other Mother", in which the Milanese singer-songwriter approaches the topic of drug addiction without ever mentioning it directly, but making his intention clear to the listeners in an absolutely brilliant way.
"Another day passes by and you find yourself once more\ along the same railway\ that colors your world and moments\ like a flash in the pan that gives a warmth that envelops you\ you can't go back anymore\ nor would you want to\ you don't remember who you are\ but you wouldn't get anything in return, no\ you wouldn't even have the people\ you find at night..."
Among the most loved and requested at concerts is "Ulysses", with explicit reference to the Homeric poem, where there are, unpredictably, rhythm changes dictated by the guitar. Also present is the track "The Sun of Europe", with which our artist was called to participate in Eurovision, 3 years before the album's release. The poetic "Towards the Stars" closes this concept, which destiny granted little fortune in terms of sales, but many emotions to the fans of the Red.
Because, indeed, this is an album that does not disappoint.
