Enon was formed in 1997 by John Schmersal of Brainiac and Rick Lee and Steve Calhoon of Skeleton Key.
After the first album, truly interesting, recorded for SeeThru Broadcasting, Toko Yasuda of Blonde Redhead and Matt Schulz joined the band. The sound is a mix of punk-rock, psychedelia, and electro freak-outs that is very fresh, sometimes exquisitely pop, sometimes violent.
In the second album, the two from Skeleton Key were no longer there, and the label is Touch and Go! We listen to the splendid "Natural Disasters" and all fall in love with them.
Numerous 7”s have been released over the years (also for Sub Pop). The end of 2003 witnessed "Hocus Pocus," a very fresh album that continues the tradition with the addition of some minimal electronic base and much more syncopated than previous ones. Worth noting is the beautiful ballad "Candy" and the splendid "Starcastic."
