Ennio Morricone (10 November 1928 – 6 July 2020) was an Italian composer and conductor, widely known for his film scores and soundtracks. He composed hundreds of works for cinema and television and numerous classical pieces.

Composed over 400 film and television scores and more than 100 classical works; received an Honorary Academy Award (2007) and won the Academy Award for Best Original Score (2016, The Hateful Eight).
