The Encore Fou come from Turin, they disbanded in 2001 and, in my opinion, are one of the most significant acts in the Italian independent scene. Dark and disillusioned hardcore that still retains that punk sound but moves towards more "metallic" shores.

Reflective moments alternate with rough parts, tightly grinded rhythms with mid tempos, always maintaining a basic melody that brings them closer (at times) to black metal. The tortured and funereal voice proclaims lyrics in Italian, hermetic and existential, far removed from the "positive hardcore" of the time; there is a dark aura surrounding this album, starting from its blue and black cover, which contains only the explanation of the esoteric significance of the number eleven.

I don’t know how easy it will be to find this testimony of the years gone by, but what I truly hope is that, the next time you think of Turin, it’s the Encore Fou who come to mind, rather than Subsonica.

Encore Fou today: some members have continued their career and are currently involved with "I Treni all'Alba" and "Disco Drive".
