LA RECENSIONE

Since 2003, Eluvium has been showcasing his talent in the ambient music scene. Eluvium, or Matthew Cooper, has produced 4 exquisite works, continuously amazing us with his incredible ability to transport us into fantastic scenarios where what surrounds you isn't clear, but you are drawn in by an irresistible desire for perfection. This is what happens in the first four tracks of the album, and you feel like you've understood that the sense of dissatisfaction that pervades the human being now seems only an ancient memory, like something that never existed.

The fifth track of the album seems to bring you down to earth, and little by little that incredible vagueness that covered the entire imagination seems to take shape in a huge dark forest made of large century-old trees and dense vegetation, with dangers lurking behind every corner; and thus fulfillment becomes fear. The sixth track appears as a sort of Cacciaguida triptych explaining to the listener the meaning of this spiritual journey, life is an immersion of joy, peace, and tranquility where materialism does not contribute to the satisfaction of one's ego. The seventh track presents itself as the path of purification where we can free ourselves from all ills that have struck us and from all the thoughts that tormented our happiness. The last track is a slow return to reality, but the message is now in our hands, and we must only try not to let it be sullied by everything that torments the human being.

An album that grazes perfection, like the others from our dear artist. Spine-chilling. For fans of Brian Eno, this work is an absolute must-listen; for lovers of krautrock, including Tangerine Dream and Cluster, a highly recommended record.

His nebulous and minimal guitar work, drenched in loops and imperceptible variations, has the power to deform reality; the vaporous, ascending textures contaminate the senses, bringing them to a different plane of perception.

Follow me into the woods and you will discover how sweet it is to let go and disappear on the horizon.
